- Shoppen Soundtrack
- Artist: Michael Heilrath
- Format: 12" Single
- Release Date: 6/5/2007
Michael Heilrath is one of the most important musicians out of the so-called "Weilheim-Szene," and his musical career is so long, it is hardly possible to get a complete overview. He is the musical head of Couch (Matador, Kitty-Yo), has conducted the Alles Wie Gross orchestra, and has performed electronic music under his Blond moniker. He has also been a contributor for the Notwist, Tied and Tickled Trio, and many others. He is a producer, musician and sound engineer, and now added to the list comes Shoppen Soundtrack, his first release under his real name. This is the soundtrack for the same titled movie from Ralf Westhoff, about marathon singles/dating events in Munich. This is pure electronic music that has the coolness of '80s new wave releases but is incredibly groovy. From the very first listen, the music tiptoes into the auditory canal and settles in. The record is very complex, and there are passages that carve out the ambient territories further and further until they become bonafide dance tracks. Some tracks are suitable for clubs from the very beginning on. This is the most funky release Heilrath has ever made thus far in his expandable and incredible career.
